Listed below are some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have questions that are not listed, please contact us.

Is this a credit card or a debit card?

MoneyCard and Companion Card:

Theses cards are not credit cards. You cannot borrow money using the card. The cards work like debit cards, but they are prepaid cards. Money is put onto your card each payday so your money is safe but available to conveniently spend or withdraw as you need.

Like with a debit card, a nationally chartered, FDIC insured bank safely holds the funds associated with your card. Unlike a debit card, you do not have a personal bank account associated with the card.

Where can I use my card?

MoneyCard:

Your card can be used for purchases anywhere Visa Debit Cards are accepted, in person, over the phone or on the Internet. You can use your card at any ATM that accepts the logos located on the back of your card.

Companion Card:

Your card can be used at ATM’s and for PIN purchases at any location where you see one of the logos that appear on the back of your card.

How do I put more money on my card?

add additional cash at a Visa ReadyLink load station.

Companion Card:

Money can be electronically transferred by the primary Family Matters™ MoneyCard holder or money can be direct deposited by any employer to
your Companion Card.

What if I change employers, or have more than one employer?

MoneyCard and Companion Card:

If you change employers, keep this card and have your new employer direct deposit your pay to it. You will need to provide your new employer with your
transaction account information. Got to the website, www.securityplusMoneyCard.com, look for “Download a Direct Deposit Authorization Form” and follow the instructions. Give the form to your new employer. This form will include all the information your employer needs to put your pay onto your card. If you work for more than one employer, or if you’re paid as a 1099 contract person by someone, you can have all your pay deposited to your card by providing each with a Direct Deposit Authorization Form.

If you have other payments deposited to the card, you will get a “notice of deposit” from the depositor showing you how much has been deposited. If you deposit money yourself onto to the card, keep the receipt showing the deposit amount.
